I'm not able to unzip them; I get:
End-of-central-directory signature not found. Either this file
is not a Zip file, or it constitutes one disk of a multi-part Zip
file.

So far as I can tell, this is not something we can fix; I can
successfully download via HTTP and unzip all of the archives provided.
What precise errors concerning file corruption are you getting?
I ran md5sum on the simile.mit.edu files, this is what was returned:
