The web clipboard idea is a powerful one, it was put forward by timbl
in these slides:

RDF clipboard type

Sem Web on the desktop

* Negotiates ontologies between copy and paste

* Converts on the fly using rules.

challenge: Test cases: drag roll of film onto map, or bank statement

I've still not looked closely at the MS implementation, but they've
done remarkably well (!) in choosing microformats for the delivery
format as they're directly interpretable as RDF.
