Man, trust me: I feel your pain.
I do so much that I'm ready to jump into 2Gb(!) of mozilla source code
to find out what the heck we are doing wrong + adding all the tricks I
know to make this baby fly... including thinking about rewriting parts
into native XPCOM components (or even better, use mozilla's own RDF
handling facility, although very primitive) if their java nature turns
out to be the problem.
I'll keep you posted with what I find, but I'm 100% on it.
